Individual NASIG members and conference attendees often post conference photos on FLICKR. The Conference Planning Committee (CPC) will remind conference attendees about the NASIG Group Pool. CPC, ECC and/or others should post a reminder on the NASIG Facebook page. Instructions for adding photos to the pool (for both FLICKR and non-FLICKR members) follow the administrative information for ECC.
Administration of the Group Pool
ECC - see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rMxIhT_glIMMFwCSH4ggeqhXLFPvgtEL_qiruJYqRVA/edit?hl=en_US
The ECC co-chairs administer the pool by inviting or approving members to join. Roles of individuals may be set as 'moderator' or 'member' from the admin client: http://www.flickr.com/groups/nasig/admin/members/. Only co-chairs or designated ECC members serve as administrators. ecc@nasig.org is the e-mail address associated with the group pool.
NOTE: the most-recently added administrator is the only individual who receives notification. If someone other than the co-chairs is temporarily assigned the admin role, they must 'demote' themselves at the end of their term in order to ensure that notifications are forwarded to the current administrator.
ADDING YOUR PHOTOS TO THE NASIG ARCHIVES and the GROUP POOL
No FLICKR Account?
NASIG maintains a nasigarchives account. Individuals who do not have a FLICKR account may email photos for auto-uploading to that account.
- Email: saw95feel@photos.flickr.com.
- Subject line: title of the photo, e.g., NASIGers at the City Museum
- Message text of your email: include the names of people in the photo and/or information about the venue. Add "Photo by [your name]" so you may be credited as the photographer.
The NASIG Historian or designee will tag the photos and determine which photos will be added to the Group Pool.
Content
Conference attendees are encouraged to add photos of NASIG events, activities and people. Identifying individuals in the descriptions or titles of photos is encouraged!
Tagging
All photos added to the pool should include the tag nasig.
The format for conference photos should be nasigYYYY, i.e., nasig2010.
Other NASIG events should be tagged appropriately, e.g., nasigUnConf2009.

NOTE: Pictures must be available for all to see and not hidden from public search. You may need to check the individual settings for each photo if they do not appear in the Group Pool within 24 hours. (They will be viewable to anyone logged in, but we'd like individuals to be able to see all photos even if they do not have a FLICKR account.) If your photos do not appear within 24 hours, please contact web@nasig.org.
If you want to set up a Flickr account
Flickr is a product of Yahoo. There are both free and paid accounts, and the free accounts do have some limitations. If you already have a yahoo account, all you’ll need to do is set up a Flickr ID. If you do not have a Yahoo account, you’ll need to set up one. The process will prompt you to create a Yahoo account before you can create your Flickr ID.
- Go to Flickr at: http://www.flickr.com/
- Click “create your account”
- Login to Yahoo.
- If you don’t have a Yahoo account, click “Sign Up” located at the bottom right of the page.
- Yahoo will then prompt you to set up your Flickr ID
- Repeat steps two through eight above under “If you have an existing Flickr account.”
* Please remember to tag all photos with NASIG and the event name (e.g. nasig2008, nasig2009 - no spaces!)
