Images directories

As of 3/2012, image files should be saved in one of three folders:

/images

/images/conf_sponsors

/images/org_members

Choose the appropriate folder and follow naming conventions for the conference and organization sponsors as noted on the Sponsor Images page.

To add an image to a page, follow these steps:

Step #1: Place your cursor in the spot where you would like the image to go.

Step #2: Click on the Insert/Edit Image icon (it looks like a picture of a tree) in the menu at the bottom of the editing window.

Step #3: A pop-up window will appear and next to the textbox labeled Image URL, click on the Browse icon.

Step #4: Another pop-up window will appear showing you files that have been previously uploaded. Click on the Upload tab at the top of the window.

Step #5: Click on the Browse button at the bottom of the window and navigate to the file you wish to upload. Click on the file, you wish to upload and then click the Open button. You can select more than one file to upload many files simultaneously.

Step #6: Once you have returned to the pop-up window, click on the Upload button at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Step #7: Once your file has finished uploading, navigate to the folder where the file sits. (This may be in /files or /files//images.)

  • find the file; go to the far right of the screen and click move/copy
  • navigate to the top of the screen where new options appear to move or copy
  • choose move; from the dropdown box, choose the proper folder, e.g., images/conf_sponsors and click Go.
  • navigate to the folder where the image has moved
  • click on your new image file in the list of uploaded images. This will insert the URL for this image into the Insert/edit image pop-up window.

Step #8: Click the Insert button in the pop-up window and your image should be on your page.

Step #9: Click the Update button below the editing window to save the changes to your page.
