Previous file structure on the NASIG website did not allow for the files to be organized in folders or directories. This means that files loaded until early 2012 are contained in a single large folder. Naming conventions were established to assist in maintaining some kind of organization in this file, and the following had been adopted:
CommitteeName_Year_FileName, for example ecc_2009_websitemanual.pdf
Since March 2012, ECC has begun to create folders and will work with committees, the Board, and others as needed to set them up. This convention will allow all of your files to sit together within a folder in the directory as well as to be organized by date. If you are loading files that don't refer to a specific committee consult ECC on placement. Existing files should NOT be moved into the new structure unless your committee has time to update all existing links to that file. Moving old files will break existing links.
For those working with images, see Uploading and Removing Images and/or Sponsor images.
If you are working with a word document, be sure the file extension is .doc and not .docx. Also, be sure that your filename does not include any apostrophes.
To upload an existing file, like a word document or PDF, follow these steps:
Step #1: Navigate to the webpage(s) you wish to add a link to a your document. When you get there you will notice that there is a light yellow background to the content on the page and when you mouse over the page, the yellow background turns bright yellow. You can add, delete and revise the content on this page in the editing window.
Step #2: Type and/or highlight the text which you would like to be the hyperlink to your file.
